Buddha and Education Can Wait For Now; Dalits Need to Set Things in Order.

Hello World,

While atrocities against Dalits have remained a persistent anti-social evil, the trend has been amplified by the hindutva politics since 2014. Pushing the Dalits down the socio-economic ladder and not letting the future generations access the ladder is the agenda in play right now in India. Anyone resisting this in any way are dealt with violence and that has further evolved into an approach of setting up examples (of violent backlash) to coerce the Dalits in India to believe, their safety depends upon them keeping their heads down and doing what the dominant groups task them with.

This is varnavyavastha putting people in their place as prescribed by the shastras. Unless, we openly accept the need for anti-shastra/anti-hindutva propaganda, we will never ever control (never mind prevent) such police excess claiming innocent lives. Killing is merely a means to achieve the subservience they feel they've lost in the past few decades. Those who are yet to see proper roads and electricity are being sent further backwards in time.

Getting educated and believing in buddha has absolutely nothing to do with saving these lives or preventing such crimes. The education and buddha rhetoric is a mere tool for those who crave a Tier-II career in electoral politics.

Within the urban landscape where there is limited to no threat-to-life, the upliftment and subsequent representation in the mainstream can be enabled through education. When physical safety is confirmed and the worst adversary tones down to mockery/insults based on vedic beliefs, the rhetoric based on buddhism can help win a few arguments at best. However, this only applies to those who do not face life-threatening existential crises on daily basis like the Adivasis. Self-respect is important but only for those who have no fear of death or hunger.

The migration-to-buddhism and get-educated rhetoric does not fit the oppressed in rural societies. That rhetoric's existence is the check-post preventing proper life-saving retaliations.

Most oppressed people in the rural pockets hardly ever visit brahmin-controlled temples and tend to have their own worship practices.  Moving to buddhism means nothing to them.

Going to school and getting educated cannot contribute to their physical safety from extra-judicial killings and related atrocities. It is the other way around where, once their safety is guaranteed, they will naturally aspire to get educated and grow.

Dropping their original identity is being thrust on them as the only way to integrate with the mainstream. The mainstream society has enough diversity already and it can very well accommodate Adivasis as they are. First and foremost is the assurance of safety where they gain confidence over their right to life and liberty which, as it turns out, is not a product of empathy but a promise of the constitution. When the constitution's promise is not upheld, the natural response has to be its outright rejection until the promises are upheld.

This is where the kalam-ki-kranthi pandemonium comes into play distorting the truth behind the retaliation, indirectly enabling the unfair labelling of proper responses as 'left-wing-terrorism' which has been created to dilute the only means to get to the negotiation table; all for a piece of political clout that can get them a Tier-II career in electoral politics.

The Dalits are facing impending genocide in almost every non-urban landscape possible in this country. Praying to a different god or getting a degree is not going to save them. It never has. It never will.

Remember, it is the same section of society which made it to the highest position possible through education and managed to compile the constitution which is getting massacred like undocumented guinea pigs in a research facility. All that highest level of education and the opportunity to compile the constitution has not installed any preventive measure to prevent atrocities against that section of society. It has, at best, managed to set standards for equality and equitable access to opportunities besides life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. To realize those standards, they need to be enforced. This calls for a political will that remains unhinged from the cravings of electoral politics. Such a political will has vanished from this nation's socio-political fabric decades ago. It needs to be revived. That is the only means to ensure the real moolnivasis live up to aspire for education and further economic upliftment. In between 'Living' and 'Aspiring to get educated' lies accessing proper roads, electricity and healthcare. 'Living' has become a challenge for Adivasis.

The need of the hour has changed.

We shouldn't be surprised about the consequences.

Buddha and education can wait for now.

Best regards,

Is Caste based Reservation an Unfair System?

 Hello World,

Source: http://www.bsklegal.org/blogs/the-need-for-reshaping-indias-reservation-system/

Many presume that reservation is 'An Unfair System' as a definite compensation which is what is driving them to look for a definite end of the reservation system and in many cases, its immediate eradication for good.

While equal opportunity is the objective of social justice, reservation is a system to ensure 'Equitable Access to All'. 'Equal Opportunity' is a state/condition and the means to it is 'Equitable Access to All' (reservation).

Reservation does not handout anything to anyone. All it does is include everyone where everyone has to compete with 'their own'. A BC category candidate has to compete with other BC candidates. A MBC candidate has to compete with other MBC candidates.

30% reservation is for BC. This means that 30 out of 100 positions is for BC candidates. However, the top-scoring BC candidates alone will get into those 30 positions/seats.

If there are 5000 BC seats and 50000 candidates apply (and write the exam), the top 6500 or 7000 will be shortlisted for the next stage (interview). The 6500th or the 7000th candidate's score is published as that year's cut-off (in this case cut-off is a consequence and not causation). If despite that some of the 5000 seats are vacant, the same year or the next year, the cut-off is lowered to ensure more candidates (say 8000 or 10000) are allowed to the final stage (interview) so the 5000 BC seats as per the reservation mandate is complied with or implemented. This reduction in cut-off is only to facilitate the implementation of reservation. This has nothing to do with enabling mediocracy.

The video I shared below has the evidence (government publications included). Feel free to watch it fully to see/read it first hand.

Reservation is there to ensure everyone has a share of the pie. The pie was controlled by a few on the basis of caste and therefore the 'equitable access to opportunity' a.k.a 'Everyone's rightful share of the pie' is also provided on the same basis.

The different cut-off across categories is a mere consequence of the scores taken by the candidates in those categories. Nobody is competing with others. Everyone is competing with their own for a piece of the pie reserved for their category. This ensures everyone has a steady/recurring access to opportunities at all times. When we remove this 'equitable access to opportunities', we will go back to the same old state of affairs where sanskrit proficiency was mandated for medical admission (and even for phd's).

Please watch the video fully and you will see much more evidence to enable a fair rounded understanding of reservation. Patience is needed as going over multiple evidences requires time to read and think.

The Aryan Philosophy a.k.a RSS philosophy is spreading views some of which is reflected on your question, to create a nationwide view against reservation so that the state of 'Everyone can become anything they want to' is removed and the old age manusmriti prescription of 'Everyone should do what their varna is classified for'. The critical means to this is the 'split/rift amongst non-brahmins (OBC vs. Dalit). As long as non-brahmins are fighting amongst each other the Aryan philosophy will continue to have a gala time. Reservation is a mere point of contention in the larger scheme of things when it comes to maintaining the rift between non-brahmins (OBC's and Dalits).

A few sentences on social media platforms cannot and will not serve as conclusive evidence. One needs to see/read the evidence first hand than to blindly follow someone who claims to have seen the evidence.

Again, please watch the video fully and you will have evidence on either side of the argument to think about and come to a conclusion on your own. You don't have to accept my view or even believe me. I merely share the evidence and let the facts show what the reality is, so rational thought can prevail at an individual level.

Reservation, by design aims at equitable access to all people and it includes competition and merit fairly such that everyone gets to compete with 'their own' until all forms of institutionalized segmentation of people is legally eradicated.

However, such a ban of 'caste' will essentially mean the very definition of 'hindu' gets destroyed. Have you ever known a hindu who doesn't have a caste identity? How is a hindu possible without a caste identity when the very faith system has been built on the caste structure (clubbed into what is otherwise termed as varna system)?

Those who disagree with everyone getting their fair share of education and employment are the ones who disagree with reservation. However, they have succeeded in convincing others that reservation is an unfair system whereas in reality, the very purpose of reservation is to ensure fairness in access to education and employment.

Reality of the Caste Based Reservation System

 Hello World,

The hindutva propaganda has been spreading lies about the reservation system for many years now and unfortunately many people have fallen for those tricks. As a Tamil, I consider it my responsibility to do something to safeguard my fellow Tamils from such propaganda that aims to destroy the very fabric of social justice in our country.

The following discussion presents evidence and analyzes 5 popular anti-reservation claims made by the hindutva propaganda.

Do you want to know in detail how the reservation system works in India (specifically in Tamilnadu)?

Do you want to see the evidence associated with the popular claims about the reservation system?

Do you have the patience for a detailed evidence based discussion (evidence include government publications)?

Do you understand Tamil?

If yes, then the video below is just for you:

Are Non-Tamils Taking Over Government Jobs in Tamilnadu? Evidence of Tamils Being Undermined by Dravidian Model

 Hello World,

Have you ever wondered what could be the reason behind this weird reason behind the political propaganda that claims that Tamils are not being preferred for jobs created by the state government in Tamilnadu?

Have you ever seen the data first hand?

Here are some outputs of research in this regard:

If you care about the methodology and analysis/discussion around the findings:
