Hello World,
US-Israel attacks on Iran is ongoing and Iran has retaliated targeting the US interests. The Middle-East region has thousands of flights cancelled, shipping routes frozen, business operations stranded and the conflict only seems to be intensifying.
Not everyone is in sync with the decision to attack Iran and the concerns of consequences are not being invisible.
It comes down to:
1. US-Israel operations destroy all nuclear capabilities that were allegedly built using the US nuclear tech from the past.
If 1 is true, then there will be no reason for pressuring Iran to comply to any checks and Iran can openly seek the help of Pro-Iran governments for help with nuclear technology. This will lead to Iran gaining whatever this US-Israel attack on Iran is aiming to prevent.
2. Iran continues to safeguard some of its nuclear capabilities and proceeds with the relaunch (with military objectives).
If 2 is true, then that exposes the weakness of combined US-Israel military capabilities (not just offensive/equipment but also intelligence and strategy). If a country continues to have nuclear capabilities despite more than one country attacking it, the country receiving the attack will register as resilient entity with improved intelligence and strategy.
If Iran loses all nuclear tech, then it is obvious that it will have a newfound freedom to develop new nuclear tech from scratch devoid of contribution from the US/West.
If Iran doesn't lose all of its nuclear tech, then the military capabilities used against Iran are not effective enough in combat.
The question then will be:
How come a global super power and strong regional power together cannot destroy (what they declared they will) something in a country that is perceived to be decades behind in military capabilities (in comparison to the global/regional power)?
If this attack succeeds in a regime change in Iran, and the Iranian citizens end up electing a different leadership which chooses a different version of Anti-US/West stance, this military operations against Iran will end being rendered useless.
Saddam Hussain maintained a tactical, transactional relationship with the US to counter Iran and the US did supply military equipment/aid/intelligence to Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war.
Everyone knows what happened to that episode of regime change and control in the Middle-East. Not many are open about the fact that the yellow cake in white pipe was indeed remnants of older program and did not help conclude anything on new nuclear missile program.
The question then will be:
Where is Iran's yellow cake and what pipe is it being held in?
This will be running in the minds of the citizens of the Middle-East. After all, their lives are being disrupted because Iran's nuclear program is undesirable to a few.
The ongoing US-Israel attack on Iran is emerging as an instance where 'Attacking Adversaries' superseded 'Protecting Allies'.
If using someone's land for military base is for safety in that region, why issue order for evacuation at times of conflict?
What is the point of an international military base in a country when that base doesn't provide protection in times of need?
The countries in the Middle-East (some of whom have allowed US military bases) are now facing the consequences of the US-Israel attack on Iran and the US response is focused on safeguarding its assets and citizens in those countries (by asking them to leave the country as Iran's retaliation has escalated).
The debate over the 'Cost of US Alliance' is going to keep the Middle-East busy.
